Family, Gender and Demography
This line of research focus on the complexities and dynamics of the family and its relationship with other demographic phenomena such as human reproduction, fatherhood, the structure and the changes of the family, gender relations, the formation and dissolution of unions and its impacts in children.This line of research contemplates multiple social and demographic aspect of the family in order to understandthe processes through which population changes in time and space. It combines theory with quantitative and qualitative methodsin order to enhance our understanding of class and intergenerational relations; the internal dynamics of the family, and the impact of demographic processes on the family.
